Body found in Inver River

THE body of an elderly Larne man was retrieved from the Inver River on Tuesday, February 28.

The deceased, who was in his 80s and is believed to have lived in the Station Road area, was recovered from the water by emergency services near Bridge Street shortly after 9.30am.

Larne Mayor, Councillor Bobby McKee, expressed his sadness at the death and said: “My condolences go out to the family at this difficult time. I am sure the whole community will be shocked by this tragedy.”

Police have said they are not treating the death as suspicious.
