Leadership and management was also rated as outstanding, with inspectors noting “high standards and expectations set by the committed and highly skilled leaders, staff and board of governors”.

The nursery unit also attained an ‘outstanding’ rating. “The skill of the staff to support the children effectively in developing their independence, social skills, language, thinking and learning across the curriculum is a key strength of the nursery,” the report noted.

The ‘Provision for Learning’ category was rated ‘very good’ with the quality of the planning, learning, teaching and assessment praised. Pastoral care provision was singled out for praise. “The voice of the child is a key strength, informing evaluations of the impact of actions within the classroom and beyond. The children’s active school improvement council provides highly-valued opportunities to develop leadership skills and contribute to the life and work of the school.”

Principal Mark Vallely said, “I am thrilled that the hard work of the children, staff, parents and governors has been acknowledged.”
