A car fire in the car park of a commercial premises in Ballyclare is being treated as accidental.

The fire was reported on Thursday, September 22 in the car park of the Asda store in the town.

Commenting on the incident, a Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service (NIFRS) received a call at 7:22pm to a report of a vehicle well alight at the Park Street area of Ballyclare.

“One fire appliance from Ballyclare Fire Station was deployed to the scene of a jeep well alight in the area. Firefighters using a hosereel jet and a dry powder extinguisher dealt with the fire.

“Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service finished at the scene at 7:52pm and the fire is being treated as accidental.”
