Annual sale of Irish art at Everglade Hotel

The sale includes works by leading Irish artists past and present and offers approximately 110 lots of various style, medium and offers something for everyone. Am interesting lot in the sale includes a watercolour by J Moore of a 'gone but not forgotten' street in the cityside.

The watercolour, depicts a traditional street scene of the time and is estimated at 300 - 400. Other lots include work by Charles McAuley, Maurice C Wilks, Brian Ballard, Markey Robinson, Frank Egginton, Gerry Glynn, Desmond Kinney, Tom Quinn, Noel Shaw, Arthur Twells, David Gordon Hughes, William Cunningham, Lorna Millar, Des Murrie, Liam Reilly, Hugh McIlfatrick, James McKendry, J P Rooney, Michelle Carlin etc.

Viewing commences on Tuesday 9th 3.00 - 8.30pm and the sale is in The Everglades Hotel on Wednesday 10th March at 7.30pm viewing from 3.30pm - Further details from auctioneers.

McAfee's auction next sale is a house sale situated at 34 Newal Road, Ballymoney and comprises the part contents of that property and another important house clearance.

'It's a particularly nice sale' says Gerry McAfee 'with lots of nice thing', Two Grandfather Clocks, Two Vienna Clocks, a Lovely Silver Topped Dressing Box, a Music Box, a Superb Rosewood Circular Table and Six Chair Set, a Mahogany Writing Bureau, a Very Drop Leaf Table and Matching Chair Set etc etc.

This sale also includes pieces of Royal Dux, Royal Worcester, Royal Doulton and Hummel Figurines, including a Large Hummel Group, Belleek, Lustre, Two Border Fine Art Figurines, Noritake etc etc.

There is of course the usual Tea and Dinner Sets, which include a Royal Doulton 'Sonnet' Pattern Dinner Set, Tea and Coffee Set, and other Tea and Dinner Sets, Anysley, Coalport, Crystal including Waterford Glasses etc. Bedroom furniture includes a Four Piece Mahogany Bedroom Suite, Two Nice Mahogany End Single Beds, Dressing Chests etc.

Among the paintings is an early oil by Charles McAuley, a Pair of Watercolours by W H Burns and Alymer Armstrong, Two Liam Reillys and a Nice Watercolour by R Faulkner of Fairhead. A collection of small pieces of Silver and some Jewellery are also included in the 330 lot sale, as is some Garden Furniture, which includes a Pair of Cast Summer Seats and Urns.
