Ahoghill WI tapestry evening

FOR THE January meeting of Ahoghill Women’s Institute, President Elizabeth Scullion welcomed guest speaker retired farmer Leslie Agnew, who enthralled everybody with his hobby of tapestry making.

He also showed a short film displaying the great variety of tapestries that he has made over the years.

The competition for pin cushion was won by Eileen McFall with Yvonne Crabbe and Mamie Greer in second and third places.

During supper members participated in a silent auction as a fund raising venture.

The evening concluded with the singing of ‘A Countrywoman’s Song’ and a vote of thanks was proposed by Frances Simpson.

Members are reminded to bring unwanted clothing suitable for recycling to the February meeting.
