Ahoghill WI showcase local businesses

MEMBERS of Ahoghill Women’s Institute helped to boost local trade by inviting four businesses from the village to give a short presentation, demonstrating some of their fantastic products and services at the February meeting.

President Elizabeth Scullion warmly welcomed everyone including a representative from each business.

Those present were Jacqueline Mairs from The Pink Beauty Room showing the vast range of treatments that they provide including aromatherapy, Linda Ferguson from the award winning floristry and venue styling Leaf Designs, Denise Montgomery from Beau Beauty displaying an amazing range of their products and services in the latest trends and styles in nail care and Malachy Gribbin from Anahorish Preserves showing some of their homemade products which have an excellent flavour and quality.

The ladies had a brilliant evening and were entertained by Malachy who read some of his own poetry.

The competitition for the best cheesecake buns was won by Eileen McFall, with Jean Graham and Elizabeth Woods in second and third place respectively.

Jean Graham concluded the meeting with a vote of thanks to these local businesses for taking the time to come and talk to them, followed by supper and the singing of ‘The Countrywoman’s Song’.
