3 listed health buildings in city

THREE of four listed buildings owned by the Department of Health across Northern Ireland are located in Londonderry and currently house facilities that provide care for vulnerable women and children, it has been revealed.

A night shelter for women, a support service for women and children who have suffered from domestic violence and a support centre for young people leaving care are all housed in listed buildings in Londonderry.

Only one other Department of Health, Social Services and Public Safety (DHSSPSNI) building - The Beeches, 23 Hampton Park, Belfast BT7 3EN - was also listed.

Health Minister Edwin Poots revealed a women’s shelter in Londonderry city centre; Fort James, Ardmore Road, Londonderry, BT47 8QP; and Pathways, 24 Pump street, Londonderry, BT48 6JG. were three of four listed buildings held by the Department.
