Rushmere lights up for Christmas

Mayor of Craigavon, Councillor Alan Carson, along with Santa Claus, who had taken time out of his busy toy-making schedule, lit up the Centre to mark the official start of the festive shopping season.

Throughout the evening, colourful cartoon characters roamed the mall with Santa distributing sweets and entertaining children of all ages, whilst shoppers were serenaded by soothing music performed by a pianist on a striking baby grand piano.

Martin Walsh, Centre Manager said; “The Christmas lights switch-on event was a great opportunity for families to celebrate the official start of the countdown to Christmas and enjoy the wonderful festive spirit at Rushmere Shopping Centre.

“With late night shopping from Monday to Friday and 60 great stores to choose from, it’s no wonder Santa comes back year after year.”
