Kellys hosts Smirnoff ‘Nightlife Exchange’

KELLYS came alive last Saturday night as they hosted Northern Ireland’s first Smirnoff Nightlife Exchange experience.

Argentinean nightlife greeted over 2,000 people in what was a great night.

The event saw the world’s leading vodka brand, Smirnoff vodka continue its global initiative which saw 14 countries swap the best of their nightlife on the same night last November with Ireland swapping with Argentina.

Kellys was transformed for the night with more that 200 metres of fabric creating a stunning sea of light blue and white, the colours of Argentina. The night featured delicious drinks including an Argentinean take on the signature Smirnoff Mule, the best food of Argentina including food from a South American inspired menu such as chori dogs and papas fritas.

Performances from a host of Argentinean inspired acts including fire acts and stilt walkers helped create a wow factor to the night. Guests were welcomed on arrival by Paka the fire breathing horse and were treated to a flash mob of tango dancers who kept the crowds entertained with their blend of authentic Argentinean dance moves. As part of the spectacle, a diverse line-up of big name talent took to the stage including DJ David De Valera. He brought his experience of having represented Ireland at the Smirnoff Nighlife Exchange in Buenos Aires last November to the night, mixing the best of UK and European sounds with a South American beat.

Completing the music line up was Kellys resident DJ Col Hamilton who played his usual crowd pleasing tunes but with an Argentinean twist and one of Northern Ireland’s most popular DJ’s COOL FM’s Connor Phillips.

Niamh Henry, Smirnoff Assistant Brand Manager, Ireland said: “The Smirnoff Nightlife Exchange Project created one-of-a-kind nightlife events in countries right around the world in 2010 with some 18 thousand people across 6 continents witnessing the best of global nightlife come alive on one night.
