Road safety workshop at Senior High
Year 12 pupils, who are studying Motor Vehicle and Road User Studies at GCSE level, took part in the ‘2 Young 2 Die’ workshops. The workshops, which were attended by pupils from both the Portadown and Lurgan campuses of the Senior High School, are being delivered by Autoline Insurance Group.
Using the ChillDrive car crash simulator, the workshops aim to help young people become more aware of the dangers they face on the roads and how to be better prepared as young drivers.

Hide AdNeil Alderdice, Subject Leader for Motor Vehicle and Road User Studies, commented on the initiative:
“This excellent workshop really highlighted the importance of being a safe and responsible road user.
“The car crash simulator provided the pupils with a unique experience, helping them understand the real-life consequences of driving irresponsibly.”
Autoline Insurance Group is a Northern Ireland ambassador for Brake, a road safety charity, and has delivered over 60 interactive ‘2 Young 2 Die’ workshops to more than 2,000 students since 2013.

As such, Autoline has become committed to playing its small part in helping to improve road safety awareness through the delivery of its Road Education programme.
In 2015, Autlone commissioned the design and build of a car crash simulator - a specially modified Ford Focus - to enhance their workshops and simulate the experience of being in a car crash.
