Pensioners ‘Acting Up’ at town hall
What makes the Craigavon Acting Up group so special is that the entire cast is made up of people over the age of sixty. In fact the average age of the cast is a spectacular 71!
The group, who all come from the Craigavon area (mostly Portadown and Lurgan), are all part of the amazing Acting Up Project. Acting Up is a special performing arts project for older people run by award winning theatre company Kaleidoscope with the support of the Big Lottery Fund. There are Acting Up groups all over Northern Ireland.

Hide AdThe Craigavon Acting Up group started back in September 2013 and since then the group have been meeting together every week at the Lurgan Town Hall. This Saturday is the group’s first full performance together and it’s a massive challenge. The play, which they helped to create themselves, is an hilarious fast paced farce all about a group of actors who are trying to stage a murder mystery whodunnit.
Craigavon Acting Up’s special one off performance of A Fate Worse Than Death takes place at the Lurgan Town Hall on Saturday. Tickets are available on 38 32 2422.
