New stalls set to enhance our Causeway Speciality Market

The unique project is part funded by Invest Northern Ireland and the European Regional Development Fund under the Sustainable Competitiveness Programme for Northern Ireland.

Mayor of Coleraine Councillor David Harding said, “Coleraine Borough Council is delighted to launch the new market stalls for the Causeway Speciality Market and thank Invest Northern Ireland for their support for the Journey to Market Project.

“The Causeway Speciality Market has put Coleraine on the map as the largest outdoor speciality market in Northern Ireland and this investment will ensure the future of this unique attraction for Coleraine”

Julienne Elliott, Economic Development Officer at Coleraine Borough Council added, “The Journey to Market project has enabled the Causeway Speciality Market to enhance its distribution channel and Council are delighted to be able to use the thirty new stalls at the June market.

“The Journey to Market project involves two elements; the enhancement of the Causeway Speciality Market and the development of local food and craft producers through a business mentoring programme.

“The purchase of thirty new stalls to enhance the Causeway Speciality Market is very timely as the popularity of the market has grown and there was a need to provide additional stalls on a monthly basis. The business mentoring part of the project will also provide new market traders for the Causeway Speciality Market”.
