Lesbian Advocacy Services Initiative workshop in Coleraine

THE Lesbian Advocacy Services Initiative (LASI) are bringing a series of workshops to the Coleraine area this week.

The organisation works to help promote the health and well being of lesbian and bisexual women and their families.

They do this by raising awareness of particular health needs, ensuring that health providers meet the needs of lesbian and bisexual women across Northern Ireland.

In addition to the promotion of lesbian and bisexual women’s health, LASI also advocate at a government and policy level to ensure their interests.

LASI have a number of peer support groups running across Northern Ireland, and they are the only organisation in the Province that are dedicated in ensuring that lesbian and bisexual women thrive in their own areas.

LASI are currently supporting women in the Coleraine area to establish their own group and this week they will be running two workshops to find out about health care services in the area.

The workshops will be run in an informal setting and women are asked to come along and get to know each other. There will be an opportunity to discuss health needs and how their local services are meeting those needs.
