Flying high!

DOWNHILL Demesne will host a kite festival on Sunday, June 5.

The high flying festival will offer fun for all the family as a a kaleidoscope of kites fly over the stunning coastal estate.

Topping the bill will be an internationally acclaimed flying exhibition including synchronised acrobatics and altitude sprints, whilst giant animals and sea creatures take to the skies.

Lisa-Jayne McCook, National Trust Visitor Reception Manager for Downhill Demesne said: “This is Downhill’s first Kite Festival and we’re looking forward to a fantastic day out for everyone.

“The festival isn’t just about watching the professionals - you can bring your own kite, make one on the day or buy one from the experts and fly it in the wonderful landscape of Downhill Demesne.

“This promises to be a spectacular event full of colour and fun - so bring the family along and let’s go fly a kite.”

The event will also include a display by the Wild Geese, an RAF exhibition and an exhibition by the Northern Ireland blo-karting team.

To add to the atmosphere there will also be specialty food stalls, local crafts, hot and cold refreshments and bouncy castles.

The event will run from noon to 5pm, admission is £4.50 for adults, £2.25 for children or a family pass will cost £11.25.
