Saints march on after victory over Freewheelers

The Saints had a comfortable 11-4 victory over the Freewheelers while Thatch had to work slightly harder to finish off Q Club in a 10-5 success.

Johnny Nelson and Eddie Gribben grabbed hat-tricks for the hosts and Aaron Leslie hitting a treble for the visitors.

Ibrox stay third after an 11-4 win over the No. 1 Blues and remain two points clear of Q Pool and the Feathers. Neil McKelvey and William Irvine pocketed trebles as Q Pool got back to winning ways with a 10-5 victory against Thatch Rockets.

The Feathers had to rely on the play-off frame to edge past a dogged St Comgall’s 9-7.

Stephen Peoples bagged a hat-trick for the hosts, including the all-important 16th along with team-mate, Lenny Swann.

Elsewhere, Tech Tornadoes had an easy 13-2 win over Clonlee and The Gers eased to a 11-4 success over Rubys.

Last, but not least, Station Bar’s Danny McKendry recorded four out of four to ensure a hard-fought point away to No 1 Reds.
