ATHLETICS: Larne AC weekly update

Larne Athletic Club had a very successful outing at Monday's Belfast City Marathon with 10 members running the full 26.2 miles.

First club finisher, Phelim McAllister ran a sub-three hour time of 02:57:49 (44th), while Billy Thompson finished in 03:03:01 (65th). Andy Gregg, running his first Marathon finished in a time of 03:04:46 (77th). Next home for the club was David Noble in 3:14:12 (143th). Paul Tilson 3:24:36 (222th), was followed by Thomas Craig 3:31:31 (319th).

Ricky Mann 4:18:00 (1086th), closely followed by Emmett Woods, completed another step in his ‘Fifty For 50’ challenge in support of Epilepsy Research UK with a finish time 4:21:43(1157th),

George McClure running his first Marathon finish time 5:17:16 (1903th) running for MacMillan cancer.

Eddie Finn, running in fancy dress as an Oompa Loompa, with the East Antrim Marathon series group going for a world record for the most Oompa Loompas to run a marathon and raise money for local charity, finished time 5:43:51 (2046th)

Larne AC also had a Mixed Relay team (Wayne Morrow, Patricia Blair, Bernard Brady, Martan Keane and James Topping) in 15th place (2:42:59).
