Martin McHugh will again go for gold in the British Isles singles championships at Leamington Spa later this week.
The international, who is a member of the Commonwealth Games five-man team, has previously won the trophy on two occasions - the last back in 2004.
The Larne man, who plays for Whitehead BC, faces a difficult preliminary round tie against Guernsey’s Gary Pitschou on Thursday, with a semi-final spot against Iain McLean (Scotland) or England’s AndrewWalters up for grabs.
McHugh will also be involved in the pairs championship, alongside Whitehead’s Barry Browne.
The local duo must also negotiate a preliminary round challenge, against Alan Quernard and John Lowery, from Jersey.
