During the Twelfth holiday weekend all cricket is normally put on the back burner, but one Templepatrick side managed to squeeze in a league fixture at The Cloughan.
Joint Section 8 leaders Larne II were the visitors, but they returned home empty-handed after being thrashed by nine wickets.
Taking first knock, the Sandy Bay men were restricted to 86 with home skipper Peter Shepherd and Rhys Wallace each taking three wickets, while Jamie Montgomery claimed two victims.
An unbroken second-wicket partnership between Gareth Lutton (48 not-out) and Josh Cowan (22 not-out) steered TCC to victory at 87 for one.
The defeat dropped the Larne lads to fourth, while TCC III have pulled clear of Downpatrick III at the bottom of the table.
On Friday evening TCC U15 beat local rivals Muckamore U15 by 10 wickets. Batting first, Muckamore scored 85 all out. Charlie Monro and U13 player player Ewan Wallace led the way with two wickets each with Adam Clarke, Josh Cowan and Harry Warke picking up one apiece.
In reply, TCC U15 knocked off the runs in the twelfth over for the loss of no wickets with Both Harry Warke and Adam Clarke finishing on 37 not-out.
Another excellent youth performance that sees the U15’s remain unbeaten with six wins so far this season.
TCC U13 ‘B’ defeated Cliftonville U13 ‘A’ by seven wickets in midweek.
Cliftonville scored 53 runs, with Beth McCrea and Nathan Crooks picking up two wickets and Stephen Murphy landing one. However, best of the bowlers was Ryan McMullan who bowled three overs and took one wicket for no runs.
In reply, TCC chased the runs down in the 12th over Sam Gardiner was top scorer with 14 not-out.
It was an excellent all-round performance from the young team which featured a run-out and three excellent catches, with captain Adam Cheshire pulling off a remarkable catch in the slips,
