Colin Montgomery and Paul Ginges won the Larne and District Pool League Pigeon Club Scotch Doubles competition recently.

The Ballylumford Club pair defeated Michael Wilson and Dessie Cooper 4-2 in the final.

At the semi-finals stage, Wilson and Cooper won decisively against Lenny Swann and Andy Mackey with the tempo not suited to the style of play the studied approach of the No. 1 Blues players produce.

In the other last-four match, Station Bar’s Damian Heggarty and William Magill twice carved out an advantage, only to lose out in the deciding game to the Montgomery-Gingles partnership.

In the final the teams traded frames over the first hour to rest at 2-2. However, when Montgomery and Gingles nosed in front at 3-2 it gave them the initiative to wrap it up in frame six.
