POOL: Ibrox defeat Feathers to move up to fourth spot

The big game of the week in the Larne Pool League came at the Rangers Club where hosts Ibrox beat Feathers 9-6 to go above the Pigeon Club men into fourth.

Despite the match being tied at 5-5, it was Scott Hutchinson’s men who won four from five to claim all two points.

Champions Thatch were drawing 3-3 against Clonlee until they had a nine-frame burst to win 12-3.

Saints had a closer affair against No. 1 Blues but came through to win 10-5 with Dean McDonagh with a hat-trick.

Q Pool emerged as 9-7 winners over Tech Tornadoes inspired by a Neil McKelvey treble and a play-off win from captain Barney Hylands. Tech’s Oliver Mulvenna delivered a hat-trick.

Ruby’s who earned their first points of the year at Q Club with an 8-8 draw at Q Club.

There was also a draw between the Freewheelers and the Gers with Geoff McMichael winning the playoff despite a Lee Hogg hat trick for the guests. Elsewhere there was a comfortable win for the Station Bar at the Thatch Rockets, 11-4, and No. 1 Reds edged a close battle between St. Comgalls 9-6.
