Teams from Larne Pool League returned from a Christmas and New Year hiatus and it was business as usual for the top four.

The Saints were the only team, however, who didn’t get it all their own way and it took a Dean McDonagh play-off success to secure a 9-7 win at Station Bar.

McDonagh landed a hat-trick during the match along with team-mate Gary Johnston. Station’s Ciaran O’Toole also pocketed a treble.

Thatch enjoyed a comfortable 11-4 victory over Q Club with Alan Johnston grabbing a hat-trick.

No. 1 Club claimed a 12-3 win over No. 1 Reds. Ellis Martin, Barney Hylands and Eddie Gribben scored hat-tricks.

Ibrox battled to a 9-6 derby win over The Gers with Robert Hawkins chalking up a treble.

Next door No. 1 Blues secured two points with a 9-7 win over BSQ Rangers, with Ryan Scott winning all four and Lee Topping winning three frames.

Meanwhile, at St Comgall’s, Ruby’s Rockets blew a 7-3 lead to end up on the wrong end of a 9-7 defeat. Marty Kane won all four frames including the play-off.

Feathers and Thatch Rockets played out a 8-8 draw, with Michael Douglas notching a hat-trick for the birdmen and Alan Corrigan and Rodney McIlhinney on form for the Rockets who each bagged a treble.
