Larne is getting into the mood for the Giro with a packed programme of events.
An “extravganza” will take place at the YMCA with the focus on pizza making and cycling, from Thursday May 1 until Friday May 9.
Participants will be able to take part in a bike safety event covering road safety and manoeuvres as well as tackling an obstacle course challenge.
The Friends of Larne Adult Centre will be holding a tricycle event on May 3 with members encouraged to wear a pink jersey.
Larne Youth rugby team plan to complete a large scale grass painting of “Freddie”, the Giro masco, from May 8 until May 10, with Larne Rugby and Football Club hosting a marquee dance and fete complete with bouncy castles and bungee runs on race day, May 10.
Larne Mini rugby team is planning a 30-mile adult cycle from Glynn to Glenarm return joining up with parents and children at Roddensvale School on May 10. A cycle/walk in pink will then take place from Roddensvale to Glynn. There will also be family tug of war.
