Four Larne AC runners took part in the Malcolm Cup cross-country meet supported by Annadale Stiders on Saturday.

The ladies’ and veterans’ three-mile race consisted of three laps of the Six Mile Water Park in Ballyclare.

Charlie Mebin ran a very strong race and was the first Larne AC runner home in 21:45, 74th place overall.

This was a great performance from Charlie as he claimed second MV65. Next home for the club was Stuart Maxwell who was taking part in his first cross -country race. He clocked 22:33, (84th).

Stuart was closely followed home by Dan Magill who has just made a return back to racing. He stormed home in 22:44, (88th).

Allan Molloy was the final club member to cross the line in 24:19, (116th) overall. Larne AC would like to congratulate all the runners on their excellent performances and Annadale Striders for holding a well-organised event.

On Saturday, LAC members Rachel Bhamra and Janine Rainey attended the Run Forest Run Minnowburn 10k.

This was the first of five races in the ‘Born2Run’ series. A hilly, challenging course lay ahead for both ladies and with a field of 420 setting off Janine Rainey was 150th in 52.00 and Rachel Bhamra 344th in 1.04 04. A fantastic festive run was had by both ladies.
