Gideon Kimosop Kipsang, from Project Africa, wins the 2016 AES Larne Half Marathon in a time of 1:07.28. INLT 11-006-PSB

Gideon Kimosop Kipsang (Project Africa) lived up to his pre-race favourite tag as he won Saturday’s AES Larne Half Marathon.

The Kenyan runner topped a record field 1,900 competitors 1:07:28 for the 13.1-mile distance.

Laura Graham sealed victory in the ladies’ race with a new course record of 1:19:21 (personal best).

Men’s race: 1st, Gideon Kimosop Kipsang (Project Africa) – 1:07.28; 2nd, Chris McGuinness (Foyle Valley AC) 1:13:36; 3rd, Ben Morrow (Ballymena Runners) 1:13:42

Ladies’ race: 1st, Laura Graham (Mourne Runners) 1:19:21; 2nd, Lisa Finlay (Dumfries RC) – 1:21:35; 3rd, Judith Lonnen (City of Lisburn AC) 1:24:44.
