Larne Grammar School pupil Jocelyn Hill performed well at the UK Laser Nationals which were held at Paignton, England earlier this month.

Competition was intense with sailors from all over the UK and Ireland, as well as Lithuania, Australia and New Zealand.

Six days of racing took place with a challenging range of weather conditions.

In the Laser 4.7 class, Jocelyn won the First Lady prize and placed seventh overall.

Commenting on her performances, RYANI Laser 4.7 coach, Chris Penney said: “Jocelyn got better as the week went on, making real improvements in her performances. It is a well-deserved result”.

Jocelyn is a member of County Antrim Yacht Club and East Antrim Boat Club.
