Curran Ladies ended their run of three successive defeats with a home victory over Antrim Lawn.

The locals were determined to avenge their recent Joyce Kavanagh Trophy defeat. Joyce Spiers directed affairs for M. Hardy, L. Swann and R. Gallagher, building a 17-6 lead after 11 ends.

Irene McCullough (Antrim) staged a strong comeback to level the scores at 18-18 on the seventeenth end. The Larne quartet held their nerve on the final end to return a one-shot winning card.

There was no such drama on rink two where, with Valerie Noble at skip, E. Miller, S. McDermott and E. Magill dominated their opponents, running out 26-9 victors.

Result: Curran LBC 45 shots (5 points) v Antrim Lawn 27 shots (0 points).

Curran travel to a rejuvenated Castle Park (Newcastle, Co. Down) on Thursday, June 4.
