CRICKET: Templepatrick ease past Larne in T20 Shield

Templepatrick cantered to a comfortable 89-runs win over neighbours Larne at The Cloughan on Tuesday evening (May 31).

The hosts scored a superb 176-3 in the first round of the Northern Cricket Union Twenty20 Shield tie, while Larne mustered only 87-7 in response.

James Jackson top-scored for TCC with 73 not-out. Jay Hunter and skipper Ross Bryans also produced solid displays with the bat, posting 61 and 25 respectively.

Phil Kernaghan bowled well (3-6), dismantling Larne’s top order of Eddie Hunter, Charlie Cloke and Chris Dempsey for a combined total of 21 runs.
