Seapark AC members have been involved in a range of events recently, from 10k to marathon multi-day events.
Gary Connolly and Gillian Cordner travelled to Telford (England), to compete in a seven-day event to run eight marathons (including two back-to-back in a day) between November 1-7. Both completed the challenging series of trail marathons with Cordner then travelling to Ballina (November 8) to run her ninth 26.2-miler in eight days.
In midweek, Seapark AC was represented at Stormont’s ‘Run in the Dark’, in aid of the Mark Pollock Trust.
Runners covered either 5k or 10k. Seapark results (10K): Bobbie Irvine (45:23), Philip Magee (1:00:52), Tony Barclay (1:15:29), Vivien Dadvidson (1:15:29); (5k): Carol Downey 43:34 and Alison Gill (35:43).
On Saturday, Seapark members travelled to Tollymore for the 26 Extreme Trail Marathon event, which included ultra, marathon, half-marathon and 10k distances.
Seapark results (Marathon): Gillian Cordner (4:21:16), Charlie McCormick (4:21:16), Bobbie Irvine (4:21:17) and Brendan Rice (4:35:37). Half: Richard Heaterington (1:49:49), Mark Welsh (1:55:08), Neill Harper (2:23:08) and Karen Waring (1:23:15). 10k: Allison Kelly Welsh (1:03:07) and Marie Nicholson (1:03:07).
