High scores help Gers to victory

THIS week saw two 7-1 results, the first being Gers 'A''s victory over Islandmagee.

For the Gers, R. Williams had a leg of 16-darts and C. Gilliland finished in 19, including a two-dart checkout of 82

(Bull: D16). Islander M. Soppitt hit 171.

The second result saw St. Comgalls victorious aocer Rangers ‘B’. Saints M. Wilkinson, K. McAllister and B. Gribben all had legs of 18 darts and M. McCormick hit 180; for the Rangers D. Ward had a leg of 19 darts and a checkout of 72

(12: 20: D20).

The Blue Bars were 6-2 winners against the Lumford. For the Blues A. Wilson had a leg of 18 darts and a checkout of 91 (17: T14: D16); J. Wilson had a leg of 19-darts, hit 180 and had a checkout of 90 (T18: 0: D18); B. Galway had a checkout of 80 (20: 20: D20); and C. Meban had a two-dart checkout of 60 (D20: D10). Lumford’s C. McGarry had a leg of 17 darts; M. Penney had a checkout of 74 (14: 20: D20); and D. Nicholls had a checkout of 84 (20: 14: Bull).

Ballylumford were 5-3 winners over Whitehead Rangers, thanks in part to C. McNeill’s a leg of 17 darts and two maximums. Whitehead player I. Wright hit 180 and W. Harrison had a leg of 16 darts.

In the first of three draws Gers ‘B’ shared the points with Larne Legion. Gers’ R. Millar had a leg of 19 darts and J. Johnston had a checkout of 115 (T20: 15: D20).

The second draw was between No. 1 Club ‘B’ and St. John’s. No. 1’s C. Brimley had checkouts of 88 (T16: D20) and 86 (T18: 8: D12).

The third drawn result was between Jay’s Rangers and L.T.O.B.. For the Jays R. Maxwell had a two-dart checkout of 94 (T18: D20) and for the Old Boys R. McNeill hit 180.

No match card was returned for the match between the Football Club and No. 1 Club ‘A’.
