Tranmere duo on international standby

Larne’s Adam McGurk and ex-Larne midfielder Robbie Weir have been put on standby for Northern Ireland’s forthcoming friendly against Norway.

The Tranmere Rovers duo could get the nod from new boss Michael O’Neill should any of his 24-man squad withdraw ahead of the February 29 match.

The East Antrim area boasts a healthy contingent in O’Neill’s panel with Gareth McAuley (West Brom), Jonny Evans (Man United), Corry Evans (Hull City) and Craig Cathcart (Blackpool) selected.
