Despite speculation on social media, Larne FC chairman Archie Smyth has denied any knowledge of an approach by Danske Bank Premiership side Cliftonville for striker Ciaran Murray.

“I have been asked about this a number of times and I can confirm there has been no approach from Cliftonville,” Smyth assured.

“Ciaran is a professional so any approach would need to be done by the rules,” he added.

The player himself also denied there was any truth in the rumours. “I haven’t heard a thing about it. No-one has spoken to me and I am very happy here.”
