Larne boss David McAlinden thanked Ryan Aurthur, Gerald Gillan and Sammy McIlveen for their contribution.

“Ryan was unfortunate, with the two boys who were playing ahead of him doing really well and had struck up a very good partnership,” he said.

“With Daniel Wilson coming back after injury his chances were maybe going to be even more limited, so I was honest with him and I think he appreciated that.

“As for Gerald, there is a lot of competition in that centre of midfield slot and with his circumstances I can understand he was frustrated. Sammy has also moved on joining Ballyclare.”

After a week off Larne are back in action this Saturday at H&W Welders.

McAlinden, who has been hit with a six-game touchline ban following an incident in the recently defeat to Armagh City, is hoping his side can put a winning run together.

“We’re looking for a level of consistency that will help to drive us on and get us into a winning run,” he said.

“We had a break on Saturday with no fixture and sometimes that does you good to recharge the batteries. We’re going to the Welders looking for a positive result.”
