Ballynure hit Moylena for six

Superior fitness paid off for Ballynure Old Boys whose three late unanswered goals earned a 6-2 win against Moylena last Saturday.

Ballynure’s Ronnie Burns opened the scoring with only seconds on the clock, lobbing the keeper after picking up a Mark Leckey pass.

On the half-hour Burns doubled the lead, but the Antrim lads pulled one back two minutes later.

Simon McGreevy’s 25-yard rocket increased the advantage, but moments later Moylena cancelled this one out.

Ballynure added three more through Jonny Robinson, Mark Moore and Ricky Higgins.

“We have worked the boys hard in training and fitness paid off in the last 20 minutes,” said manager, Gary Burns.

“I intend to play three at the back and the Curlett brothers, Gareth and Mark, along with Mark Leckey performed well.”
