“Another couple of wins and hopefully that will be the start of us climbing up the table. And there hopefully could be another couple of new faces in this week.”

Dick had set the wheels rolling for UUJ just before half-time, but their failure to decisively deal with a corner opened the door for a Ballywalter leveller just after the interval.

And it looked as though new-look UUJ would be frustrated until that last-gasp winner by Dick, set up nicely by Ryan McLoughlin.

Meanwhile, after just one point from their previous nine, Wellington Rec returned to winning ways away to a Grove United side who were shock winners at second-placed Newcastle the week before.

It was Rec’s first win since seeing off Malachians on penalties in the Clarence Cup three weeks earlier.

Wellington’s goals came from Michael Moore and Andy Waide, one in each half.

In the Cochrane Corry Cup, Greenisland secured a 3-0 win over Rooftop.

Islandmagee, Larne Tech and Rathfern Rangers were all sidelined on Saturday with their matches postponed.

In Division 2C, Grange Rangers’ fixture at Castlewellan Town was put on the back burner. Saturday’s Cochrane Corry Cup tie against Rosemount Rec will also take a back seat as they are involved in the Junior Cup.
