Boss warns of difficult campaign after defeat

IT wasn't the start he wanted, but Paul Millar fears Saturday's 1-0 defeat away to Dergview might be an indicator of what's to come in a season he anticipates will be extremely difficult for Larne Football Club.

But the boss is urging the supporters to get behind the team this weekend when they face two stiff tests in just three days. Next up, it's a match against Donard Hospital in the Steel and Sons Cup on Saturday, at home at 2pm before they meet reigning league champions Loughgall on Monday night at 7.45pm.

"It may be just the start of the season, but already it will be a very important three days and could very well define our season," said Millar.

"Losing to Dergview was a disappointment, but I would have to be very honest and say we can't really have any complaints about the outcome.

"The problem is going to be highlighted time and again in this division, whereby teams will get a goal and sit on it.

"Lesser teams can make life seriously depressing when they defend as Dergview did. They can be very hard to break down.
