A lady captain's day with fizz

CAIRNDHU lady captain Maria Raven's day got off to an effervescent start with a bucks fizz reception and concluded with the presentation of prizes and dancing in to the small hours.

Eleanor McNeill won the top prize of the day with 41 points and a better back nine than runner-up Lynn Morrow.

Third-placed Una Duncan finished a point in arrears on 40, with Maree Kyle, fourth, on 39 and Lesley Gaudson in fifth place with 38.

Jean Orr, 38 points, won the past captains’ prize; Kate Mellor won the council prize with 34; Mary McKnight had the best front nine with 18 points; and Shirley O’Hara the best back nine with the same score.
