Once invincible, now United girls suffer a second shock defeat

FOR defending champions United to lose once, ending an incredible unbeaten run, was a shock. To lose two in a row seemed unthinkable.
However, the team who had won every one of their first 15 matches in this season’s Larne and District Ladies’ Darts League tasted defeat for the second time in succession, losing 4-6 away to Rangers, hard on the heels of the defeat to St Comgall’s th
at dashed their hopes of a perfect season.

Second-placed St Comgall’s could not maintain the momentum and were beaten 7-3 on their own board by Pigeon Ladies.

No1 Ladies moved in to third place with a 6-4 victory at Ballylumford, while Eagle sunk Fleet Ladies 8-2 and both Islandmagee and Thatch enjoyed wins over Tech and Wings respectively. Ponderosa and Legion drew.
