Larne archers take a bow

ON A day when most other sporting events in Northern Ireland were cancelled due to the heavy rain, there was a smaller turnout than usual at the Northern Ireland Outdoor Championships in Banbridge.
And for three Larne archers the trip was worth it.
In her first outdoor championship Shannon Taylor took the title in the Under 13 girls section. One of her opponents, Ashleigh Hughes - who also represented the Larne Club - retired due to the conditions, whilst holding second place.
Chris Taylor, who shot in the Under 18 section, was runner-up in the face of stiff competition and miserable conditions.
Jordan and Lewis Mitchell successfully defended their championship titles - Jordan in the Under 16s and Lewis in the Under 14s, as well as bringing home the award for best overall compound archer.
