When was the last time a Larne team achieved a run of four wins in a row, not to mention four clean sheets on the spin in the process? Yet some of the natives are said to be restless, a number of supporters apparently far from content with the fare served up by the team.
A 3-0 win over Dundela was followed by 1-0 victories against Dromara Village and Ards and then last weekend the 2-0 success against Tobermore United in the first leg of the CIS Cup.But, while Graham McConnell readily admits the performances weren’t that great, he believes results are what matter most of all.

“I’m here to win and, if you look at my record since taking the job, you will see I’m not doing too bad in that respect – 19 games played since January and 12 of them won.

“The fact that the last four wins have come without conceding a goal is testament to the performances of goalkeeper Christopher Keenan and Brian Neeson and I think it’s a tribute as well to the work done with them by goalkeeping coach Martin Bird.
