Wellington Rec Football Club is celebrating after receiving a £300 donation from the MARS Milk Play Fund.

Established more than 60 years ago, Wellington offers football training to people of all ages and abilities in the local area and has recently set up a mini-soccer academy.

Gary Morrow, commercial manager and coach for the group, says: “This donation from the MARS Milk Play Fund couldn’t have come at a better time. Our mini-soccer academy is receiving a lot of interest from prospective members, however we currently do not have enough equipment to support the demand.

“With this donation we can now afford to purchase new equipment to help extend the reach of the academy.”

The MARS Milk Play Fund runs until September 30.
