As part of the Department for Social Development-funded ReStore programme, the Forum linked with the Town Development Office of Larne Council to produce the Main Street Central - Shopping at the Heart of Larne campaign.

The campaign included a new website for town centre retailers and businesses, a Northern Ireland-wide billboard and adshel campaign, free reusable cotton shopping bags, QR code shop window notices for participating stores, business cards, local press adverts and new bright lamppost banners along Main Street to highlight and reinforce the brand.

Over a three-month period, the website has encouraged almost 40 businesses to participate. The site attracted 560 unique visitors and over 900 visits to the site.

The Main Street Central campaign is to be focus of this year’s Christmas promotions, with special Christmas offers, discount vouchers and seasonal promotions added to the website over the next few weeks so that shoppers and visitors may print them off and use them for their Christmas shopping.

Hazel Bell, Larne Town Development manager said: “This website will be advertised and promoted across Northern Ireland on billboards and adshels from November 12 to 25 so watch out for these.

“This is to encourage people to visit the website to check out what Larne has to offer and then come and visit. The same offers are also available to local shoppers and all the participating traders are looking forward to providing quality goods, keen prices and great service over the Christmas shopping period.”
