Somme memorial parade in Cairncastle

Friends of the 36th (Ulster) Division Cairncastle will be holding a parade in Cairncastle on Saturday July 1 to commemorate the Battle of the Somme. Participants are asked to meet at the Church of Ireland, at 7.00 pm, for a laying of poppy crosses at war memorial headstones.

At 7.30pm, a parade will proceed through the village to Cairncastle Orange Hall where more poppy crosses will be placed. This will be followed by a short service and act of remembrance.

A piper and bugler will also be taking part.

Members of the Orange Order are also welcome to join the parade in regalia.

Light refreshments will follow in the Orange Hall.
