The Rotary Club of Larne in partnership with Rotary Clubs throughout Ireland are participating in a Bicycle Recycling Project.

The Rotary Clubs is appealing for donations of unwanted adult bikes.

The bicycles must have a minimum wheel diameter of 20” and suitable for a teenager/adult. Mountain bikes are ideal. The bikes will be donated to schools in Africa, to be used by young people to get to and from school . Schools take ownership of the bikes so when the young person leaves, the bikes can be passed on to other pupils.

The bikes will be refurbished at Loughan House Open Prison, County Cavan before they are shipped to Africa. Bikes can be collected by  Rotary Club members or bring to Inver Garden Centre.
