Larne promenade has been temporarily closed to the public after a rock slide in the area.

Larne Borough Council confirmed that the popular seafront walk has been shut “in the interests of public safety” after the incident, which took place on December 30, left the pathway impassible.

A spokeswoman for the local authority added: “An engineer’s report to assess the situation and make recommendations on actions to remedy the problem and secure the rock face along the promenade is to be presented to the council shortly.”
