larne author Dr Noel Davidson has published a new book to mark the 30th anniversary of Prison Fellowship Northern Ireland.

‘Bringing hope beyond bars’ features stories of the past three decades of the fellowship’s work.

Mr Davidson will be present at a special launch of the book at Woodlands Presbyterian Church tonight (Thursday) at 7.30pm.

Mr Davidson is a retired headmaster who has been writing Christian biographies for more than 20 years. He has developed a distinctive style which has resulted in his books becoming immensely popular.

Several people will be interviewed on the evening about his experiences delivering fellowship to those in prison.

For every copy of the book sold a copy will be made available free of charge to someone currently in prison.

Charles Colson, founder of Prison Fellowship Ministries, said: “It is with a deep and profound sense of gratitude to God that I congratulate every single person, alive or passed on to be with the Lord, still active in the ministry, or retired, who has joined in the wonderful work of Prison Fellowship Northern Ireland over the past 30 years.

“The stories of God’s grace in the lives of so many prisoners, ex-prisoners and their families gathered in these pages are a fitting witness to God’s mighty power to transform lives.”

The book is priced at £9.95. The launch starts at 7.30pm.
