Sinn Fein MLA for east Antrim, Oliver McMullan has held what he described as “positive talks” with Larne’s new PSNI area commander.

Mr McMullan, accompanied by party colleague, Larne Councillor James McKeown, met Chief Inspector Stephen McCauley recently to discuss a range of issues.

Mr McMullan said: “I congratulated police on their recent success in tackling drugs in borough.

“CI McCauley also reassured me that police are taking steps to deal with agricultural theft.”

They also discussed an incident where a band was alleged to have played loud music outside a Catholic Church in Larne.

Police have looked into the incident and found that “no crime was detected”.
