Mid and East Antrim Borough Counci will host a number of business stakeholder engagement events with businesses across East Antrim.

According to a council report, the purpose of the events is “to build strong relationships and hear first-hand where businesses and employers need support.”

Council Chief Executive Anne Donaghy said the scheme was about “getting to know our businesses across MEA and a feel for the issues.”

She continued: “We are very aware of the environment we are in and the pressures businesses find themselves in and the number one priority of economic growth.”

Alderman Gregg McKeen commented: “It is imperative we do this, the sooner the better.”

The recommendations to initially hold three business stakeholder engagement events based on the geographical locations of businesses were unanimously passed.

Meetings will be attended by the Mayor, Deputy Mayor, the Chairs of Community Planning and Economic Growth and Development, the Chief Executive and an appropriate Director.
