Year of the Tiger roars in at the museum

LARNE Museum and Arts Centre will be celebrating Chinese New Year with an evening of fun for all the family.

The event on Friday, February 12 kicks off at 7.30pm and will feature performers from Artsekta demonstrating traditional Chinese music and dance. There will also be an arts and craft session and a chance to try food associated with Chinese New Year.

But the highly anticipated highlight of the evening will be the Lion Dance, typical of Chinese New Year festivities. In ancient Chinese folklore, the lion is believed to bring good luck for the year ahead and chases away bad spirits.

This will be a colourful and joyous celebration marking the beginning of the Chinese Year of the Tiger, with plenty to keep the whole family entertained. Everyone is welcome.
