Scrambler children 'could be prosecuted'

POLICE have urged young people in lslandmagee to quit riding around on motorcycles before someone is seriously hurt or killed.

In the past few months, the PSNI has been dealing with a growing number of complaints from residents in the Garden Village, Reids Road and Ballystrudder Gardens areas about young people using scramblers and other small motorbikes.

Sgt George Kirby of the rural neighbourhood police team told the Larne Times: "Using motorcycles, quad bikes or any mechanically propelled vehicle on roads, footpaths or other public places is totally unlawful.

"If this continues, we will seize the vehicles and have them scrapped and the offenders may face prosecution."
