Peaceful flag protest held in Larne

editorial image

AROUND 1,000 loyalists staged a peaceful Union flag protest outside Larne Borough Council’s offices tonight at 6.30pm.

The protesters gathered outside Smiley Buildings on Victoria Road as council members were due to begin a committee meeting.

A short statement - objecting to last week’s controversial Belfast Council decision to fly the Union flag at City Hall only on designated days - was read out and the protesters sang ‘God Save The Queen’ before dispersing.

Full report and pictures of the rally in this week’s Larne Times. In shops on Wednesday.
